Meaningful Engagement

that honours indigenous voices

We work alongside our clients to develop engagement strategies that build trust, strengthen relationships, and support meaningful dialogue with Indigenous Nations, communities, and partners. We ensure that the stories and perspectives shared are reflected with accuracy, care, and cultural integrity.

Our Services

Our collaborative engagement approach supports every stage of the process, from strategy development and relationship building to facilitation and reporting. We ensure every voice is heard with care and respect.

Engagement Services

We plan and manage every stage of the engagement process, from concept to delivery. Every engagement is thoughtfully designed to create welcoming spaces where Indigenous voices can be shared and heard.

Communications and Outreach

We build awareness and foster participation through thoughtful messaging and targeted outreach. We collaborate with our in-house communications team to deliver content that is culturally relevant, accessible, and visually engaging to support informed participation.

Facilitation Services

We match each conversation with the right facilitator, drawing from a diverse network of experienced professionals with expertise across sectors, communities, and engagement approaches to create inclusive, productive discussions.

Insights and Analysis

We compile and analyze participant feedback collected through surveys, in-person or virtual discussions, social media, and other engagement tools to provide meaningful insights that help our clients understand outcomes and inform future decision-making.

Reporting Services

We share outcomes through a range of tailored written, visual, and multimedia products, including meeting minutes, summaries and What We Heard Reports. Guided by OCAP® principles and Indigenous Data Sovereignty, our reporting is completed manually, without AI, to honour Indigenous voices with accuracy, care, and cultural integrity.

Commitments & Credentials

We actively engage with the Global Indigenous Data Alliance (GIDA), a network of Indigenous researchers, data experts, and organizations from around the world. GIDA brings Indigenous voices together to strengthen approaches to data sovereignty and governance. We stay aligned with GIDA’s evolving practices to ensure our work reflects global standards in Indigenous data management.

Every member of our engagement team completes The Fundamentals of OCAP® training from the First Nations Information Governance Centre. OCAP® stands for Ownership, Control, Access, and Possession and asserts the rights of First Nations over their data. We apply these principles across all our work, ensuring data is handled with care, integrity, and respect.

We are an active member of the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2), the global body for public engagement professionals. Through IAP2, our team takes part in conversations on Indigenous engagement and stays up to date on evolving tools and best practices that support meaningful community involvement.

Our Approach

For years, our work has centred on one responsibility: listening with intention. By documenting conversations with accuracy, care, and cultural integrity, we’ve learned what meaningful engagement looks like – and what is required long before the first meeting begins.

That understanding shapes every engagement we support. We work alongside clients to build thoughtful engagement strategies, strengthen relationships, facilitate collaborative dialogue, and ensure every stage of the process is grounded in Indigenous values, community priorities, and cultural protocols.

To us, engagement is more than gathering input – it is about building trust. We create opportunities for people to participate in meaningful ways, and we carry the knowledge they share forward with honesty, respect, and accountability so it can inform decisions, strengthen relationships, and create lasting impact.

Engagement on Consultation and Accommodation

The development of Canada’s new consultation and accommodation guidelines is a process that must be guided by the voices, knowledge, and priorities of Indigenous Peoples. This multi-year engagement series is creating space for Indigenous communities to share perspectives that will shape a framework grounded in respect, reciprocity, and recognition of inherent rights.
